Learning a language is a long process; why not add some fun? There are tons of Language & Fun programs out there that can really add some flair to your studies. Language & Fun programs combine regular language classes with activities such as travel, surfing, golf, wine tasting, cooking, dance, art and much more! Programs are offered in many languages, currently Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Arabic, Korean, and Japanese. Most programs are open to any language level and all ages over 18 (not including programs that serve alcoholic beverages). There are even Golden Age programs for participants 50+.
Interesting Language & Fun programs to check out are the Activa Spanish programs, offered in Antigua, Guatemala; Quito, Ecuador; Cusco, Peru; and Sucre, Bolivia. Participants have seven hours per day of Spanish classes and culture. Classes take place for four hours, then three hours each afternoon are spent on local excursions to museums, cathedrals, fruit markets, archeological sites, and more. The Activa program is an excellent way to learn Spanish and really experience your host city.
Interested in learning Spanish and Latin dance? Several Spanish programs are offered, paired with dance instruction. Spanish is offered with Flamenco, Latin dance (Merengue, Bachata, and Salsa), Salsa, and Tango in locations in Spain, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Argentina. Practicing your Spanish skills while learning to dance like a local is a great way to meet new people and become truly immersed in a new culture.
For martial arts enthusiasts, several options are offered. Learn traditional and modern stances, footwork, kicks, hand techniques, body coordination and balance in Beijing, China in the Chinese and Kung Fu program. Practice some Japanese in Tokyo while strengthening your Judo or Karate skills. In Seoul, Korea, learn Korean while practicing Taekwondo with experienced Korean masters in Korean and Taekwondo. In Salvador, Brazil, take Portuguese and Capoeira to learn the ancient ritual of capoeira, an exotic mock combat of two fighters who perform lunges, kicks, and punches to the beat of drums, clapping, and singing of the onlookers. A truly exciting experience!
This is just a small sample of all the wonderful Language & Fun programs AmeriSpan offers.
